As Red Velvet consisting of Irene, Yeri, Joy, Wendy, and Seulgi has rolled out “The ReVe Festival Finale” on various music sites such as Melon, Flo, and Genie on December 23rd, the cinematic music video of their title track “Psycho” has been mesmerizing a plethora of K-Pop lovers. In the MV, the girls’ visuals are on full display. Yeri and Seulgi play out fun and charismatic choreography to the title song. The clip also shows Joy running across a lawn in a beaded robe and ends with the word “Psycho.”
“The ReVe Festival Finale” has 16 songs and four new songs have been added to the album including “Psycho,” and three new songs, entitled “In & Out,” “Remember Forever,” and “La Louge.” Prior to the group’s comeback, Red Velvet released the members’ concept photos for the new album on their official website and SNS. The first photo features Yeri with a mysterious atmosphere, like a ghost bride with a veil, but still enthralling and seductive that’s undoubtedly eye-catching. Red Velvet’s latest teaser images reveal the members in the same strange green glow and a creepy black-and-white backdrop, while the Twitter teaser clip features the girl group members in a more upbeat atmosphere.
Most recently, the Red Velvet fan community had been buzzing when a clip longer than 2 minutes was said to be a demo of “Psycho.” The clip was an early version of “Psycho” and was not edited as the final product of the whole crew. However, the leaking of more than half of the whole song’s melody turned out to be achievement and popularity of the official product after its release on December 23rd.
This condition has been shaping up to be one of Red Velvet’s most iconic comebacks and their fans can’t wait to see the full MV and listen to the repackage album with new songs: “Psycho,” “In & Out,” “Remember Forever,” “Ladies Night,” “Jumping,” Love Is The Way,” “Carpool,” Parade,” “Bing Bing,” “Milkshake,” Sunny Side Up!” “Zimzalabim,” and “La Rouge.”
As one of the five idol groups to perform in North Korea as part of a diplomatic initiative between the two Koreas back in 2018, Red Velvet embarked on the North American leg of their Redmare Tour at the beginning of 2019. They went on to hold shows in LA, Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and Newark in the U.S.A including Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, earning the honor of the first K-Pop girl group to hold a North American tour in three years. Why not Atlanta in the New Year of 2020? Red Velvet’s visit for its own sake will rock the K-town here and go beyond the boundary, nailing down its popularity as a K-Pop throb.
Simply put, this group has left a milestone in the K-pop scene with diverse music styles and catchy lead singles like Ice Cream Cake, Red Flavour, Peek-A-Boo, and Bad Boy since starting out as rookies in 2014. The power of these girls has powered up the K-pop fandom!
