The K-drama maintained its magic until the very last moment.

It’s rare that a series of K-drama is intense from start to finish, but Hotel Del Luna was an exception. Metering out its plot at a masterful pace, the drama cast bid farewell on September 1st and they didn’t betray our expectations for the end.
Nestled in the heart of Jung-gu, Seoul, is Hotel Del Luna, a mystical hotel that caters to spirits and prepares them for their journey to the afterlife.
Jang Man Wol, played by IU, is the CEO of Hotel del Luna, the eponymous hotel which is catered only to ghosts. Making a grave error years ago, she has been stuck at the hotel. She is glamorous, fickle, but greedy.
Goo Chan-Sung, played by Yeo Jin Goo, works as the youngest manager ever at Hotel del Luna. He pursues perfection, but he has a soft disposition like a sweet girl.
Kim Sun Bi, played by Shin Jung Geun, remained the most mysterious employee. If you're a K-drama fan, chances are you've seen him as a supporting actor in a lot of dramas.
All of the episodes enthralled the audience, with especially episode 13 and 14 giving us chills. Flash backing to those two episodes, after Chan Sung foolishly ventures down the tunnel towards the afterlife to rescue a human child, Man Wol is sure she’s lost him for good. But as soon as he gets out of the tunnel, he greets Man Wol with a hauntingly charming gesture.
For a reunion that has been 1,000 years in the making, Man Wol and Chung Myung’s brief exchange felt a little anticlimactic. Man Wol has finally let go of all her resentment and pain and is finally able to welcome closure for the sorrow that Chung Myung caused her. The scene is perhaps a bit sad for Chung Myung, who spent 1,000 years as a bug waiting for this moment. But he seems acceptable enough that Man Wol no longer bears him any ill will. This smile says it all.
The smile is laid upon the audience as well.
“For me this is the best drama of 2019. I was filled with excitement on how it ends. I will sorely miss this drama-the excellent actors from the leads to the supporting cast and well-made plot. These elements make a difference for Hotel Del Luna,” said an online user.
