Good Data Corporation posted their weekly ratings of the most buzzworthy dramas and actors at the beginning of July. The TV series of “Arthdal Chronicles” continued to be ranked at No.1 for the five consecutive weeks.
The drama is comprised of three parts: Part 1: “Children of the Prophecy,” Part 2: Sky “Turned Inside Out, Rising Ground,” and Part 3: “Arth, the Prelude to All Legends,” which will be airing on September 7th.
In a mythical land called Arth, the inhabitants of the ancient city of Arthdal and its neighboring regins vie for power as they establish a new society. A gripping tale of love, ambition, and tragedy with four characters whose destines are intertwined fighting for what they want in the city of Arthdal.
Eun Sum, played by Song Joong Ki, was born with a fate to bring disaster to Arthdal. As his mother struggles to save him, Eun Sum goes through all sorts of adversities while growing up. Years later he shows up again in Arthdal to fulfill his destiny.
Ta Gon, played by Jang Dong Gun, is a celebrated war hero of Arthdal. He is the eldest son of San Woong, the leader of the Arthdal Union. The most powerful person in Arthdal, he has paved the way for Arthdal to flourish and dreams of becoming the first king of Arthdal.
Tanya, played by Kim Ji Won, was born with the same destiny as Eun Sum and their fate complexly intertwined. She, the appointed successor of the Wahan Tribe, goes through a bad patch and realizes her mission. She basks in the highest honor and is ambitious enough to become a politician.
Tae Ha, played by Kim Ok Bin, is the daughter of the Hae Tribe Chief, Mi Hol, a woman of ambition with no bound. She is the last descendant of the Noeantal, a race completely different from human beings.
In season 1, episode 1, Sanung and Saram propose an alliance with the blue-yeed Neanthal, but when things go awry, Ta Gon takes command of the Great Hunt. In the 12th (last episode,) Ta Gon becomes enraged when he discovers Mi HOl is behind Tan Ya’s abduction, and the two later get together to discuss her fate. Eun Sum orchestrates an escape.
A source from the drama party involved explains, “There is a lot of post-production work that need to be done, such as computer graphics, so we made this unusual programming decision. It’s because we have to pour all of our abilities into production as the characters meet their fateful turning points.”
