Actor Yoo Ah-in has been named one of the best actors of 2018 by the New York Times for his role in the film "Burning."
He was among 12 film stars cited by the paper, including top Hollywood names Ethan Hawke, Julia Roberts and Emma Stone.
Film critic Wesley Morris last week wrote in the NYT, "At first, as you watch Yoo Ah-in move through 'Burning,' slowly undertaking the most mundane tasks (chitchatting with a lonely cow; masturbating), you might think, a little resentfully, I'm watching paint dry. But eventually his methodical manner darkens outward into a kind of cosmic alienation."
Meanwhile, "Burning," which was directed by Lee Chang-dong, was included in the best movies of the year by Times critic Manohla Dargis, who put it second on her list.
Dargis on Thursday called "Burning" "a breath-catchingly lovely, terrifying movie" and ranked it second only to "Roma" by director Alfonso Cuaron.
