Are you looking forward to seeing EXO’s long-awaited comeback? Chanyeol and Sehun, two of EXO’s nine members, have just released the charming music video with their new song, “We Young,” in both Korean and Chinese.
The song is the third track to be released as a part of “STATION X O,” a project by SM STATION and SKT culture brand O that brings together a strong lineup of musical collaborations. To be specific, We Young is the latest release from SM Entertainment’s digital music channel “STATION X O,” and fans have been waiting since Chanyeol and Sehun performed it back last July at EXO’s concert, “The ElyXiOn[dot].”
We Young, a hip-hop track with a lively piano riff, delivers a message of hope that all youths can love themselves just the way they are and go in search of what they really want to pursue in life.
In the music video, Chanyeol and Sehun change from scene to scene as they revolve with a turning platform. With the bright and lively music video to liven up the hopeful lyrics, anyone who watches it will be able to feel the positive energy the two EXO members give off.
The collaboration of Chanyeol and Sehun might have been already signaled. In a recent interview about the disaster drama, “Missing Nine,” where upbeat Chanyeol acted, was asked which fellow EXO member he would pick to take with him to a deserted island. He picked Sehun without reserve and the reason why is so playful. He said with a mischievous grin, “I want him to taste some hardship.”
In the drama Missing Nine, a private plane to a reunion concert for former boy group Dreamers crashes and nine artists and the staff of Legend Entertainment are stranded on an island without a link to civilization. Chanyeol acts Lee Yeol, the youngest member of the disbanded boy group, who is the only one who has an ongoing successful solo career after the breakup. Will you be watching the drama? Add it to your drama queue!
Meanwhile, EXO consists of nine members: Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Lay, and Chen. These members are from South Korea and China and were formed by SM Entertainment in 2011 and debuted in 2012. Their music features pop, hip-hop, and R&B, including electronic dance such as house, trap, and synth-pop. EXO has been honored “Kings of K-pop,” by media outlets and once it ranked as one of the top-five most influential celebrities on the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity.
EXO’s first album XOXO, which contains the breakthrough hit “Growl,” made it big, selling over one million copies, which established EXO as the best-selling Korean group in twelve years. Last February, EXO also performed at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang as a representative of K-Pop along with CL. This energizing boy band never stops running!
