South Korean girl group has returned with a new album called “One & Six." It has been almost a year since the EP Pink Up came out in June 2017.
The new album is the sextet’s attempt to weave maturity into their trademark innocent image. “One & Six” is packed with a total of 6 songs titled “I’m So Sick,” “ALRIGHT, Don’t Be Silly,” “Forever Star,” “Promise Me,” and “I Like That Kiss.”
Apink, consisting of Eunji, Chorong, Bomi, Naeun, Namjoo, and Hayoung, represents their vow to show all the different colors of the six members in one album. This new album title symbolizes the six members and their fans united as one for the band’s seventh anniversary since their debut.
The lead song, “I’m So Sick”, is a striking turn from Apink’s former discography, which contained the group’s angelic and pure image. Clad in mature and black outfits, Apink tells the story of a woman’s break-up with a lover in the lyrics. This song has every element of a fancy K-pop song, such as auto-tune and tropical-house sound.

“We have come up with a new direction of charismatic purity in our choreography, stage costumes, and styling,” said Apink. “We are just grateful for this moment of coming back with a full line-up for the first time after a year and two months. We are also happy to be part of the highly competitive summer record scene that has brought out almost all of the rival girl bands.”
Since their debut in 2011, Apink has had a string of hit songs and its members have also been active in TV commercials, acting, and TV shows. The group was known for such singles as “NoNoNo,” “Luv,” and “Five”. Suzie, the original member of Apink, who is no longer with the band, has become an A-list actor. She drew in massive popularity when she acted in the box office success, “Architecture.”
Now Apink is embarking on an Asia tour. The girls will be heading to Hong Kong on August 11, Kuala Lumpur on September 9, and to Jakarta on September 26 to meet fans all over Asia. Is Apink coming to a city near you? Plan A Entertainment, which is who Apink renewed their contract with, signaled that there would be more cities announced soon!
